What exactly does
"on hold" mean?
To place an item on
hold, you must order it. All customers who place orders will have their items immediately marked "on hold" except first-time customers paying by check or money order. We hold items for these first-time buyers when mailed-in payment is received.
Items are not held
when they are placed in your shopping cart; they are only marked "on hold" for
the first person
to complete check-out for that item.
When
you see "on hold" next to an item number, that means either:
- the item has been ordered using a check or money order, and
payment has not yet arrived
- the item has been paid for and has been shipped, but its return
period is not over
You cannot order an item marked "on hold", but if you write with interest in an "on hold" item we will notify you in case the item is not purchased or
is returned. We place and remove "on hold" notices as soon as
possible when the status of an item changes. If an item is ordered that
is already on hold for another customer, our policy is to proceed with the
previous order as planned, and notify the second and subsequent customers in
case the first order is not completed.
No one person has claim to an item in case the first order
is not completed, because we do not queue customers according to who wanted an
item second, third and so on. When an item is made available, the policy
is first come, first served. In case an item you want has officially
sold and you have interest in buying it from the prior customer, unfortunately
we cannot broker deals or link up communication between you and another
customer.
