Large Men's 1940s Western Gaucho Pants - Late 40s 50s Mens Cowboy Trousers - Like Chimayo Saltillo Handwoven Cotton - Red Green Blue Stripes
$ 119.99
This rare find is a handwoven cotton trouser, striped in vivid colors reminiscent of a Chimayo blanket. It's a fantastic pant in a gaucho look with wide legs and short hems, with a very hip rockabilly vibe. It was purchased in the Southwest US in the 1940s or 50s by a world traveler who also procured a couple of Chimayo wool handbags on the same trip.
They are amateurly made wide-leg pants with red hand-stitched seams, not made from a modern pattern but instead four simple rectangle panels sewn into two legs with a drawstring waist. It's hard to tell if it was meant for men or women originally.
This trouser was found with a Western men's shirt from the same source, in a different stripe with similar colors, available at the time of posting. Please check our shop’s listings for current stock.
