Art Deco elegance from the early 1930s! This black velvet 30s evening dress has a soft cowl neckline, meringue-like short sleeves slit with tied bows at the hems, and a bias-cut with svelte shaping to waist seam and trumpet-like flared skirt. It has its original velvet belt with Deco style rhinestone buckle.

Very nice for its age, fabric looks sturdy but has some inherent fragility simply due to age, the velvet pile is slightly flattened from gentle folds and pressure in storage, some seams have been reinforced, the belt loops at waist are thread, buckle has nine rhinestones missing from one side and a few darkened ones, 3-4 penpoint holes low to skirt that are hard to find unless held to light, hem has been simply turned up and stitched once
