Exquisite 1940s black suit with antique inspired details! This black velvet suit includes an hourglass jacket and A-line skirt, both with special styling. The jacket has a unique wing lapel & pocket-draped effect at the chest, with double-button closures in Victorianesque jet black beaded accents. Jacket has shoulder pads and cocked cuffs with a carefully hand-sewn lining. Late 40s to early 50s.
Matching skirt has a nipped waistband with darts to the front, and four gores in back with a slight swish to the silhouette.

Very nice, looks and feels just lightly worn, the beadwork on closures had beads missing and has been altered to make the beads symmetric while keeping the original design as intact as possible, the interior of jacket lining has 3-4 tiny whitish scuffs at mid-back and a faint hint of whitish marks to the under arms, the skirt has a single 1/8-inch hole at the zipper and the zipper itself is a replacement
