Dainty details for a very feminine style from the 1950s, this ballerina-like cocktail dress has a fitted bodice and full skirt, so pretty in palest blue cotton with windswept embroidered eyelet. The bodice has a trompe l'oeil necklace in hand-beaded faux pearls to the scoop neckline, with princess seams and a nipped waist encircled in a hand-applied midnight blue taffeta cummerbund. The full skirt has seven flared gores with box-pleats in front.

Very nice, has been restored extensively to remove discolor, a scant tan hint of perspiration remains under the arms, very hard to notice when worn; the fabric just above the cummerbund at bodice front has a scant pinkish hint, also very hard to notice
